Frankenstein or the Modern Prometheus by Mrs. Shelley, copyrighted 1901 by the W. B. Conkey co, #45 in the Amaranth series. 4 illustrations, plus a picture of Mrs. Shelley, and a forward by her. No signatures, autographs, etc. Original penciled price was $11.02, then $.25. The hardbound fabric has gold gilt, with red and burgundy design pattern. The binding is good, but 2 pages have come apart from it at the front. The rest is intact. The back cover fabric looks like some water splatter, but is not ruffled or bent. Some of the pages are fox-eared, and the cover corners are a bit bent.
