Frankenstein or The Modern Prometheus by Mary Shelley. This is an Extremely Rare pirated edition, undated but published around 1889 (1880-1900) by the Lever Brothers of Port Sunlight, Birkenhead.

Good. Original publisher’s carmine pink cloth binding with gray? Stamped titles to the spine. Cloth is soiled and marked, rubbing to corners and to the head and foot of the spine, the cloth to the spine is a little gathered, spine being dulled darker than the rest. Ep’s are browned, binding showing cracks at the hinge at the the title page, the whole block is actually very clean and tightly bound, No inscriptions.

This unofficial / Pirated publication would have been cheaply produced in small numbers for the residents at Port Sunlight and is as such an extremely scarce edition of this Gothic Masterpiece.
